Job Description
Metroplex Medical Supply is a leading Durable Medical Equipment Company seeking the right candidate to join our team! The core responsibilities will be handling workflow related tasks, entering patient/customer information, follow-up, and other necessary front-end related duties. We are looking for a punctual, highly energetic, organized, self-starter with a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and perform the duties listed below:
SKILLS
· Sense of urgency and responsiveness to patients, physician’s office, team members, and customers
· Work independently and as part of a team
· Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations manually and in Excel
· Helpful, knowledgeable and polite while maintaining a positive attitude
· Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive company and patient information
· Self-motivated, organized, time-management and deductive problem-solving skills
· Ability to multi-task while meeting quality standards
· Attention to detail
· Basic understanding of medical insurance benefits and eligibility
· Familiar with medical terminology
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide service for all patients and retail/walk-in requests
· Manage all aspects of patient intake: answering the phone, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral information, assembling patient charts and processing paperwork
· Manage patient accounts with contact information, insurance and financial information in a confidential manner
· Provide effective customer service in all communications with patients and referral sources both verbally and in writing
· Prepare complete and accurate files for billing department
· Verify Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance coverage information and eligibility
· Comply with applicable laws and regulations including HIPAA
· Manage inventory of medical equipment and office supplies, as well as coordinate reordering supplies
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Lift 10lbs (rarely needed)
