    WRIGHT-PATT CREDIT UNION IS HIRING A MORTGAGE SALES ASSOCIATE FOR OUR MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATION TEAM.

    THE MORTGAGE SALES ASSOCIATE (MSA) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATORS (MLO) INCREASE PRODUCTION BY PERFORMING SUPPORT SERVICES SO THAT THE ORIGINATORS CAN SPEND MORE TIME MEETING WITH MEMBER-OWNERS. MORTGAGE SALES ASSOCIATES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING MEMBERS/BORROWERS IN APPLYING FOR OR NEGOTIATING THE TERMS OF A LOAN. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATOR AND THE MSA SHOULD DIRECT ALL SUCH MEMBER INQUIRIES DIRECTLY TO THE MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATOR.

    1. Requests and completes all documentation needed for clearing mortgage files to submit to closing department principally Homeowner’s insurance, verbal verifications of employment, closing request forms.   Assists in obtaining the signed receipt of Early Acknowledgement from member as needed.   Confirms closing date/time with realtors or title companies and sends final closing disclosures to members as soon as possible. Assists members with processing wire transfers for closing when coming out of WPCU account. (35%)
    2. Reviews loan conditions received from underwriting and contacts third party service providers to obtain required documentation needed to satisfy the assigned MSA conditions. (30%)
    3. Assists MLO with pipeline management reviews on a daily/weekly basis. Reviews “loans that need attention report” on a daily basis making sure requests for documentation needed to advance file are being addressed timely. (20%)
    4. Assist MLO in getting files submitted into operations department.   If needed order special services such as a written VOE or credit supplement if determined by MLO to be needed. (10%)
    5. Other duties as assigned. (5%)

    Required Skills

     

    1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    2. Minimum of one year experience reviewing credit reports, documenting borrower/member income, and validating data received during a loan interview. Previous experience with first mortgage and/or home equity loans is preferred.
    3. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding service to borrowers and/or credit unions.
    4. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize the necessary software to complete job functions, especially Credit Union’s core processing system, mortgage loan origination and mortgage loan processing systems, along with third party web sites.
    5. Demonstrated ability to learn and/or review and interpret credit reports, automated underwriting decisions, purchase agreements and other mortgage related documents.
    6. Demonstrated ability to learn and adhere to federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to mortgage lending.
    7. Ability to work under firm deadlines with varied workflows.
    8. Excellent telephone manners and techniques.
    9. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
