The Chemical Operator is an entry level position in our food chemical processing plant. In this position, the Chemical Operator will operate in a safe and efficient manner, carrying out basic duties, some of the basic job duties are listed below:
- Raw Material handling and unloading
- Material packing using manual, semi-automatic, and automated packing systems
- Restocking of packaging supplies
- Trailer loading and unloading using fork truck
- Bulk truck loading and unloading
- Clean-up and housekeeping
- Operate chemical equipment
- Troubleshoot process problems
- Troubleshoot product flow
Required Skills
- Have the physical ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. further than 10 feet on a frequent basis
- Must be able to work in confined areas while wearing protective clothing & equipment
- Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision, rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, computer applications
- Good reading and comprehensive skills
- Must be able to learn new duties and progress to chemical operator level
- Must be capable of operating a fork truck
Required Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing facility
- Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Active St. Louis stationary engineer's license is preferred
