Execute lesson plans and work with volunteers and other teachers to provide consistent, meaningful, and deliberate opportunities for community engagement, active citizenship and academic enrichment.
Create and execute positive behavior management plans for each of the students in your care.
Communicate with the Program Administrator, Senior Director of Programs, and family members about each student’s progress and areas of growth including disciplinary and behavioral issues with students.
Create a safe and productive classroom environment
Provide homework assistance and mentorship to youth ages 5-12
REQUIREMENTS:
Help provide ideas regarding new and engaging activities and the expansion of the curriculum
Be able to meet deadlines and be self-accountable
Ensure daily cleanliness
Maintain a positive attitude and a passion for learning
Have a sense of humor and ability to be flexible
Occasionally, be available for training and certifications that may fall outside of typical work hours
EMPLOYMENT:
20-25 hours/week (Available 9am – 6pm)
Salary: depending on experience with the potential for growth
Please note it is important to be available to work all program days (Monday-Friday).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with children ages 5-12 in a school, summer camp or coaching setting
Work experience with students with special needs and social/emotional/academic challenges
Outgoing, enthusiastic, comfortable speaking in public, and confident in leadership roles
Must be patient, flexible, creative, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Current First Aid and CPR certification & training
Must be 18 or older
Strong behavior guidance skills that are both firm and positive
Experience with diverse populations
Must possess a commitment to personal/professional growth and development
Ability to pass background checks
