    PROGRAM COORDINATOR - MOBILITY ON-RAMP COLLABORATIVE

    MICHIGAN MOBILITY INSTITUTE - DETROIT, MI

    The Michigan Mobility Institute accelerates mobility workforce development, upskilling programs, and post-secondary degrees by bringing industry and education partners together. We merge the historic excellence of engineering, design, and supply chain in Michigan with deep insight into the global hiring needs of next-generation mobility disruptors.     WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    The Program Coordinator will support the Michigan Mobility Institute in coordinating the day to day functions of the Mobility On-Ramp Collaborative and administrating strategy needs of the organization. This role reports to the Institute's Program Manager. One of the main focuses of the organization is the coordination of a regional employer working group – the Mobility On-Ramp Collaborative. Rapidly evolving technology is driving workforce changes in the automotive and mobility industry, and this Collaborative will work together to address training, placement, and retention needs. It is a joint effort of employers, educators, workforce development agencies, and community partners who have voluntarily come together to formulate new solutions to meet shared talent gaps. The Program Coordinator role will be essential to ensuring that the Collaborative is supported with the information and resources needed so that its objectives are reached.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    PROGRAMMING

    • Work with the Program Manager to coordinate and execute ongoing communication to the Mobility On-Ramp Collaborative's members.
    • Research and prepare reporting documents for the Collaborative.
    • Monitor and create surveys for the collaborative, utilizing our survey development portal.
    • Translate survey data acquired from the collaboratives and prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings.

    ADMINISTRATION

    • Manage external and internal office communications via email, physical mail, website inquiries, and social media platforms.
    • Coordinate the Institute's schedule, calendaring, and events.
    • Record meeting minutes for formal meetings.
    • Work with the Program Manager to create and send a monthly newsletter to our mailing list.
    • Manage our social media platforms with engaging content on a scheduled basis.
    • Facilitate communication as the liaison to our supporting agencies and partners (Increase Media and Design and others).
    • Develop working relationships with the Institute's partnered administrative offices to build rapport and strong communication channels.

    FUNDING

    • Work with the Program Manager to develop presentations that highlight the work of the Collaborative and the Institute that can be used to secure additional funding.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Experience in a customer- or client-facing role, including interface to senior leaders.
    • Ability to communicate and present one's self effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt plans to organizational change.
    • Excellent written and in-person communication skills.
    • Strong email and scheduling etiquette.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior experience in HR, training, or workforce development (preferred, not required).
    • Experience in a previous administrative role is beneficial (preferred, not required).
    • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google G-Suite tools (required).

    WORK HOURS

    • This is a part-time position (20-25 hours per week).

    Work will be completed primarily during business hours (9AM-5PM Monday-Friday) with occasional required attendance at meetings outside of those hours.

    Estimated time allotment:

    • 70% programming
    • 20% administration
    • 10% funding

    LOCATION

    The Michigan Mobility Institute maintains an office in Midtown in partnership with Wayne State University. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will function remotely for the protection and safety of the hire.
