MOLECULAR LAB ASSISTANT COVID-19 TESTING- FULL-TIME POSITION 

Southwest Regional PCR Laboratory dba MicroGen DX, located in Lubbock, TX, is a next-generation sequencing company focused on clinical application of molecular biology and genetic sequencing.  Our clinical laboratory serves doctors and patients in 49 states.

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Molecular Laboratory Assistant to join our small group of dedicated lab scientists providing state-of-the-art clinical analysis of a variety of patient specimens for the detection of COVID-19.  Availability Monday and Wednesday mornings is a must.  Availability Saturday is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Possess general clinical laboratory skills such as: ability to critically think and troubleshoot and proper specimen handling.
• Capable of working independently and with a group
• Excellent communication skills
• Superb teamwork and multitasking skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

• Opening shipments of COVID patient specimens
• Organizing, matching and placing COVID patient specimens in racks for the Laboratory Technologists to test downstream
• Writing laboratory accession numbers that link patient specimen to order forms
• Any other duties as assigned by laboratory manager or other superiors/upper management
