Southwest Regional PCR Laboratory dba MicroGenDX, located in Lubbock, TX, is a next-generation sequencing company focused on clinical application of molecular biology and genetic sequencing.  Our clinical laboratory serves doctors and patients in 49 states.

We have an immediate opening for a Full Time Molecular Technologist to join our small team of dedicated lab scientists providing state-of-the-art clinical analysis of a variety of patient specimens for the detection of COVID-19 as well as other infectious diseases using qPCR and NGS.

MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• In Science field with four (4) yeas lab experience
• BS in Science Field or Associates of Science

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Possess general clinical laboratory skills such as: pipetting, basic understanding of QA/QC activities, utilization of standard protocols, ability to critically think and troubleshoot, and proper specimen handling.
• Capable of working independently and with a group
• Excellent communication skills
• Superb teamwork and multitasking skills
• Experience with RNA Extraction and real-time qPCR a plus; however, not required
• MLT or MLS or MB license a plus; however, not required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

• RNA extraction of clinical samples
• Performance of Real-time qPCR on clinical samples for COVID-19
• Result reporting
• Any other duties as assigned by laboratory manager or other superiors/upper management
