Textiles Chemist or Textiles Engineer student or new graduate opportunity for summer internship or short-term full-time contract position expected to last 12-16 weeks. This position will support our global textiles technical team based in the Charlotte Metro area. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:Operate coating, mixing, and drying equipment and analytical instrumentation to facilitate completion of critical laboratory experiments. Maintain detailed, accurate records of all experimentation to ensure procedures and results are understood by colleagues and customers.Interface with multifunctional teams to support and learn new product development.Graduate student (preferred) or senior undergraduate student pursuing degree in Textiles Engineering or Textiles Chemistry or a new graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Textiles Engineering or Textiles Chemistry. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Physical demands include standing for long periods of time in a laboratory environment and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Performing the duties of this job requires some mitigating precautions and/or protective gear or clothing due to potential risk from such sources as moving machinery or chemicals in a laboratory environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
