    Job Description

    The Sr. Engineer I-Marketing position is a technical marketing role, coordinating between different technical experts and field personnel to facilitate customer design activity for Microchip power conversion solutions. Key functions include analyzing markets, identifying customers and opportunities, comparing technical approaches to application problems, creating documentation to promote Microchip solutions to address those problems, working with sales to win those opportunities, and documenting the results. This requires coordination between different groups within Microchip, matching available solutions to customer needs. Secondarily, this role will support broad market promotion activities, advertisements, web content creation, print collateral, or trade show activity. Understanding of power conversion and power management will be useful, but this marketing role is supported by technical experts and application engineers within Microchip.

    • Work with other marketers to increase visibility of products and solutions
    • Coordinate with internal teams, other business units, and field personnel monitor opportunities and solve customer problems
    • Work with other marketers and engineers to analyze customer design activity, to understand successes and learn from failures
    • Integrate marketing information from multiple departments, including acquired companies, into coherent messaging for customers
    • Create collateral and other promotional materials (web, sales training collateral, advertising, or similar content) for product launch and ongoing advocacy
    • Actively maintain and audit marketing content to ensure consistent messaging (website, collateral, selector guides, demos, etc.)
    • Coordinate with other departments to support trade show content and logistics as required
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Familiarity or interest in power conversion technologies and markets
    • Ability to analyze markets and technical solutions, to assess risks and potential return on investment
    • Ability to manage deadlines on multiple projects
    • Ability to influence and coordinate with coworkers from different business units, with different roles and goals
    • Good project management skills, with the ability to establish, observe and manage priorities
    • Problem solving and attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Up 20% travel
    • BSEE or related degree required; MBA, MS or MSE is a plus
    • 5+ years experience in a technical or marketing role at a company that manufactures, supplies, or extensively uses semiconductors.
