We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to design, modify, develop, write, and implement secure and mission-critical software applications for DoD programs. The ideal candidate will work within cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and contribute to complex projects that enhance defense operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement software programming applications and operating systems for defense use.
- Modify and enhance existing software solutions , ensuring optimal security and functionality.
- Write, review, and maintain efficient, high-quality, and well-documented code aligned with DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting on complex projects.
- Coordinate work teams, mentoring junior developers and ensuring collaboration across departments.
- Conduct software testing, debugging, and validation to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist in software architecture decisions and secure software development methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security protocols.
Required Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of software engineering experience OR
- Master's Degree or higher with 1 year of experience.
Experience:
* 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR
* 1 year of experience with a Master's Degree or higher.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or embedded systems development.
Understanding of secure coding practices, software architecture, and software lifecycle management.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Knowledge of military systems, DoD applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with classified defense systems and DoD contracts.
- Familiarity with cloud computing solutions for DoD applications (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software engineering methodologies.
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved software development credentials.
