Mid Michigan Leadership Academy is currently hiring a full time SCHOOL LEADER.
Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy (MMLA), a Title I school chartered by CMU, is a student-centered
school, focusing on the academic success of all students through the transfer of knowledge from the
traditional classroom environment to real world applications. The school is committed to preparing
students for college through a solid foundation of knowledge that provides them with an edge in facing
life’s challenges. MMLA has a dedicated staff and offers individual attention with a focus on every child’s
success.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with underserved children, and the administrative
skills to effectively manage instructional teams, projects, and multiple tasks. Qualified candidates will
demonstrate a commitment to support the school's mission and vision and to achieve and sustain high
levels of student achievement.
THE PRINCIPAL WILL:
Believe in and promote the mission and vision of Mid Michigan Leadership Academy.
Ensure the academic success and emotional welfare of all students.
Drive talent management initiatives that support staff retention and development including but not limited to professional learning, staff recognition and staff wellness initiatives.
Develop and promote a positive student and staff culture.
Promote and utilize restorative practices to foster positive relationships within the school
Develop strategic partnerships, community engagement initiatives, and programs for school-wide success.
Drive the enrollment, retention, and recruitment campaign for the school including but not limited to parent and guardian engagement initiatives.
Direct new student enrollment, registration, and scheduling.
Administer district policies and processes concerning academics, discipline, and attendance.
Administer guidelines according to the Administrative Procedural Guidelines.
Effectively follow and execute charter contract and board policy requirements and compliance initiatives.
Maintain a clean, safe and inclusive school environment.
Develop and maintain a thriving parent-teacher advisory board.
Assist with planning and implementing school programs and events and promote positive public and school-community relations.
Use systems thinking to solve complex problems.
Motivate staff and students to reach ambitious targets.
Maintain a balanced school budget.
18). Collaborate with other departments in an effort to support a common vision and goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
● Master's degree in administration, supervision, curriculum or related areas.
● Meet the State school administrator’s certification or continuing education requirement.
● Three years of successful teaching experience or related experience with students.
● Able to foster a student-centered learning environment.
● Demonstrate advanced organizational and communication skills with students, parents and staff.
● Possess a positive work history.
● Possess a solutions-oriented and innovative attitude.
● Able to manage multiple, complex projects at one time.
● Demonstrated success with meeting school enrollment targets.
