    Position: Mild/Moderate Special Day Class Teacher

    Location: Coalinga, CA 93210
    Position Type : Full-time

    Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mild/Moderate Special Day Class Teacher to join our partner school's educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in a specialized classroom setting. This role requires a compassionate educator who can create an inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each student.

    Qualifications:

    • California Special Education Credential - Mild/Moderate with English Learner (EL) Authorization
    • Autism Authorization
    • CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test)
    • Must demonstrate subject matter competency in Multiple Subjects

    Requirements:

    • Ed.Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Disabilities); EL Authorization
    • Resume
    • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation dated within 18 months of application
    • Transcripts (Post BA)

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
    • Create and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
    • Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents regarding academic and behavioral development.
    • Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning environment.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay informed about best practices in special education.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
    • Ability to create a supportive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement.
    • Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with special needs, including differentiated instruction techniques.
    • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning experiences.
