Position Summary This is a full-time faculty position, teaching Monday-Thursday. The Middle School HCI will use their creativity, love for learning, and maturing biblical worldview to inspire young minds to consider how fields such as history, art, literature, the Bible, and geography affect their daily lives and future as Christ-followers. The Middle School HCI will seek to utilize existing curricula as well as integrate additional source material such as novels, maps, historical documents, and biographies. This position requires a high level of creativity and innovation in order to engage students in the material and learning process. The Middle School HCI will also serve as the home room teacher and be the primary point of contact for parents' questions and concerns. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities Instructional Duties: Teach all Core subjects, including English, history, geography, Bible, and other language arts courses as needed. • Review lesson plans provided in the curriculum • Prepare to teach each subject with prayer and curiosity • Keep appropriate records of student achievement, including grades • Regularly communicate with parents about student progress and behavior • Meet students as needed to answer questions about assignments or grades Discipleship/Advising: • Humanities Core Instructors are expected to look for opportunities to disciple (formally through instruction or informally through casual conversation) students. Qualifications: • A mature relationship with Jesus • A completed bachelor’s degree in humanities or a similar discipline • Experience teaching at the high school level • Two references: one academic, one spiritual • A love for teenagers/young adults • A love for learning Compensation: $18 hourly
