  • Responsibilities

    Status: Part-Time

    Divisions: Middle School (Grades 5-8) and Upper School (Grades 9-12)

    Overview: The Hudson School seeks a dynamic Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty beginning in the 2026-27 school year.

    Responsibilities: PE teachers are responsible for the development, implementation, and progression of The Hudson School's physical education curriculum. A THS PE teacher works with grades 5-12 under the supervision of the Athletic Director and Middle and Upper School Division Heads.

    A successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and experiences:

    • Planning and delivering lessons on physical fitness, games, and sports
    • Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups
    • Creating a learning environment that is inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their ability level or background
    • Ensuring all activities are safe and suitable for the age and ability of students
    • Assessing students' progress, then communicating with parents and guardians
    • Promoting teamwork, leadership, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through physical activities
    • CPR/First Aid Training

    Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
    • 2-3 years of experience in a related field
    • Experience with students ages 10-14 required
    • Be able to work indoors and outdoors
    • Upon employment, be able to pass a criminal background check

    This is a part-time position that pays $55 per 40-minute class period. Middle School PE classes are two forty-minute periods back-to-back. This position may cover between 5-8 class periods per week.
