    I. Position Summary:

    Support in daily tasks and long-term projects at Experience Columbia SC related to website development, digital marketing, customer service and general office administration.

    II. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    A. Website Management & Database

    · Create and update content through a CMS (content management system) for all websites under the Experience Columbia SC umbrella with direction from the Director of Marketing and web development partners (ExperienceColumbiaSC.com, ColumbiaSCSports.com and ColumbiaConventionCenter.com).

    · Assist in updating 1,200+ partner listings in database with the Partnership Manager and other designated staff.

    · Manage community event submissions and create new event listings for calendar of events.

    · Assist Director of Marketing in website redesigns (reevaluated every 2-4 years), upgrades, and enhancements of websites and databases.

    · Develop website or microsite content and design for significant events.

    · Participate in monthly calls with web development teams.

    · Assist Director of Marketing with management of web-related revenue systems, such as online advertising sales, online hotel booking engine and experiential or discount passes.

    B. Digital Reporting & Optimization

    · Monitor and report website traffic and flow through Google Analytics, adjusting website content and marketing accordingly. Present web analytics to the marketing department for use in executive meetings, board meetings and community presentations.

    · Monitor and report success of web-related revenue systems such as hotel bookings and experiential or discount pass purchases.

    · Monitor and report analytics from digital advertising campaigns through third-party tracking system.

    C. Email Marketing

    · Work with department heads to send quarterly community email newsletter to community partners and stakeholders.

    · Work with e-newsletter vendor to provide content for monthly leisure e-newsletter.

    · Develop emails for meeting sales leads as needed.

    · Keep up-to-date on email marketing compliance laws and best practices and see that ECSC’s communication methods are compliant.

    · Analyze email marketing results used to re-tool future emails.

    · Send partner communications for upcoming meetings and announcements through CRM.

    D. Community Relations

    · Network with community partners at designated functions and through one-on-one meetings as necessary.

    IV. Education/Qualifications Required:

    · Bachelor’s degree in the area of marketing, communications, tourism management or related field preferred.

    · 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

    · Strong interest in data analytics and reporting preferred.

    · Superior writing/editing, and problem-solving skills are required.

    · Knowledge of CMS systems, e-newlsetter platforms, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM) and data reporting are preferred.

    · Must be an efficient and resourceful self-starter with strong organizational skills.

    · Must be able to interact with the public at all levels and clearly communicate organization mission.

    · Should be able to work independently and possess a willingness to acquire new skills. This is a unique opportunity to learn every aspect of what goes into marketing a destination.

    · Must be able to work outside of regular office hours on an as-needed basis.

    · This position will work from a floating desk space and will be required to work remotely on occasion after the training period is over.

    · Must live in or near the Columbia SC region (Richland County or Lexington County).
