    Midwest Express Clinic is a leading chain of Urgent Care centers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. We are currently looking to hire a terrific mind with great potential for growth.

    The HR Generalist will work autonomously to support our management team and urgent care centers in the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area. We currently have 17 clinics and will be adding more locations by the end of the year. This position will work directly with our Human Resource Director and management team. They will help provide support for 200+ employees and cover a broad range of activities, including employee relations, benefits, HRIS, recruitment and on-boarding. The candidate must have a proven ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and work in an environment with shifting priorities. The role requires being flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, high growth environment while demonstrating initiative and accountability.

    REQUIRED:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • 4 year degree in Human Resources or similar discipline
    • At least 3 years of experience in human resources
    • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality
    • Advanced computer skills
    • Be a self-starter with excellent problem solving, decision making and follow-through skills

    DUTIES:

    • Help set, document and maintain administrative policies and procedures for HR processes (best practices/standard operating procedures)
    • Act as an expert on HR policies and procedures and train supervisors and employees on the same
    • Plans and conducts new hire orientation and onboarding process to foster positive attitude toward company values and expectations
    • Assists new employees with new hire paperwork, collects all necessary forms, sets up files for new personnel, and processes new hires in ADP
    • Responds to routine employee requests for HR information about benefits, policies, procedures, and use of HRIS
    • Approve employee schedules and PTO requests
    • Manage the off-boarding process, including explaining benefits, completing exit interviews, etc.
    • Support the performance management process by training on the system, helping set goals, answering questions, ensuring participation
    • Create and store confidential employee records
    • Assist in payroll preparation and submission
    • Help develop and maintain affirmative action and EEOC plans as needed
    • Help develop and keep current employee communications
    • Answer employee questions and help find resolution
    • Help maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
    • Support engagement activities and all HR projects or initiatives as needed
    • Other duties as assigned
