    Job Description

    Boutique restaurant accounting/consulting firm seeks full-time bookkeeper/office manager/assistant, eager to help the firm expand and ready to take on additional services and roles. We are a young and quickly growing firm that manages the finances for 50+ restaurants, bars and other eating places in Chicago and several other states.

    This position shall offer direct support to the owner by way of bookkeeping and general office assistance for the firm. Initially, candidate will be trained in many areas of basic accounting, bookkeeping and administrative roles, including but not limited to:

    • Sales/Data entry

    • Accounts Payable and check disbursements

    • General office organization and administration assistance

    • Vendor Management

    • Payroll entry and analysis

    • Light cleaning of office (occasional dusting, vacuum and file/paper removal)

    • Account Reconciliation

    We are actively seeking an individual whom is dedicated to helping us expand. There will be additional opportunities for advancement depending on amount of effort the candidate offers.

    The ideal candidate will be extremely well organized, have excellent computer skills and exceptional critical thinking skills. Additionally, candidate will have:

    • Previous work experience, preferably in a financial or hospitality background
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with ADVANCED Excel Knowledge
    • QuickBooks experience
    • Typing of 60+ WPM

    We have a very comfortable office conveniently located in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, just 2 blocks from Chicago Ave. Red Line stop. The position does require most days in-office, but work-from-home will be available for some days/month as needed. Overall we offer a very laid back environment, with spacious work area (10 employees with roughly 2200sf).

    The position offers employer-contributions towards company-sponsored medical/dental insurance, paid time off after training period, and an overall very accommodating work environment.

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

    MHC is a boutique firm in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, which offers various financial management services to a number of notable restaurants, bars and nighclubs, here in Chicago as well as several other states. We've got a team of 8 here in Chicago as well as 6 remote employees whom offer data entry support. Our specialty is restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, which we've established a very niche market and are expanding very rapidly. We've seen 20+% growth rates in clients over the past 2 years, and with the number of projects in the pipeline we expect to continue this growth pattern. We currently handle basic bookkeeping/day-to-day financial management, such as Accounts Payable, weekly/monthly financial reporting, cash forecasting, budgeting, startup assistance (PPM's, Operating Agreements, state/fed filings, cap tables, etc), in a nutshell we act as outsourced full-service accounting/finance/human resources functions. We offer a fun and engaging work environment, with a comfortable office setting.
