Part- or full- time research assistant position to evaluate medications using an animal (rat) model. Animal handling or laboratory research experience helpful, but not required. The Midwest Veterans' Biomedical Research Foundation is a private non-profit that performs research benefiting military veterans. It is affiliated with the Kansas City VA and is located in Kansas City at 4801 Linwood Blvd. This position is part of a project aimed at developing medications that are effective treatments for patients with substance abuse disorders or other mental health problems. Hourly wage available at $18 to $23, commensurate with experience. The applicant will work closely with the Director of the Substance Use Research Laboratory, Dr. Ken Grasing. This is potentially a good opportunity for someone with either premedical or psychology interests.
