    About us

    Mighty Minds and Muscles Therapy & Coaching Services is in lower Manhattan. We are looking for SETSS providers who could take one student that has a mandate of 25 hours per week in cases in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn. Our clinic is in the TriBeCa area downtown; cases in our office are also a possibility.

    This delightful 3rd grader has a 1:1, engaged para who is a great team member and collaborator. The school environment is very supportive of his IEP mandated support team. The SETSS provider works in tandem with the teacher to provide same day modifications to classroom lesson plans to support learning.

    About You An experienced Special Education Teachers to fill the role of a Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) to provide 1:1 support for this child 5 days a week. You will be skilled at parent communication and briefly connect with the parent each day. Some planning and documentation time is built into the schedule.

    Our SETSS providers must have experience both in the classroom setting and as individual support teachers. Must be or get fingerprinted by the NYC DOE and cleared by the DOE HR system. We cannot hire anyone who has been a formal DOE employee within the past year.

    Responsibilities include:

    Supporting the child directly within a variety of environments as needed.

    Collaborating with teachers, related service therapists (OT, PT, speech, counseling) and parents to provide learning, behavior, communication and self-care support.

    Complete and compile daily notes, progress reports, goals and educational materials for teachers and parents, complying with state and city regulations.

    Attend professional development courses and in-services to enhance your skills and fill up your "tool bag".

    Must understand sensory processing and behavior modification techniques.

    Demonstrate excellent communication skills and flexibility as you will be entering varies environments with a variety of curriculums and expectations.

    Present yourself in a professional manner with punctuality and dedication.

    Must fulfill contracts through the school year calendar.

    EXPERIENCE: Experience with physical disabilities, non-verbal children/AAC devices, sign language.

    Education requirements: Masters Degree In Special Education

    License/Certification requirements: Students with Disabilities (Birth-2) Teacher or equivalent (Special Education) Early Childhood Education

    Other requirements: Background check, fingerprinting, DOE/NY State registry paperwork.
