The Parts Specialist has two primary purposes. First, this role helps the shop reach it’s gross profit goals by ordering parts at the best possible prices by negotiating with vendors to secure the best price. The second purpose of this role is to ensure clients get great service by being the “backbone” of the repair shop office.

Duties include:

Ordering / purchasing parts in a timely fashion to enhance quick turnaround times for repairs

Negotiate and filter through vendor options for parts purchasing to obtain the best deal

Create relationships with vendors to aid in negotiation abilities

Maintaining a small amount of stock parts

Verify all ordered parts are received upon arrival

Dispatching received parts to awaiting technicians

File invoices received with parts

Administer warrantied parts, returned parts and credits

Achieve profitability goals

Our business is known for providing 100% customer service, meaning customer service skills are required for this position as well. Those duties include:

Answering phone calls

Scheduling appointments

Checking customers and their vehicles in and out

Completing other work as needed by the General Manager

Qualifications:

Customer Service or Administration Experience: Must have at least 1 year in any customer service or administration related position.

Organizational Skills: Must be able to work and complete work tasks in a timely fashion in an environment that has constant distractions and interruptions.

Computer Knowledge & Ability: Must possess a working knowledge of how to use a Windows computer. This includes the ability to type or dictate at least 30 words per minute, operate a cursor, view a computer monitor, operate an email account, and use common office software such as word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate in English fluently, in both verbal and in written form.

Math Skills: Must possess ability to count. Must know how to perform basic math functions using a calculator.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift more than 15lbs without assistance ○ Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.

Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with passengers.
