    Job Description

    LEGAL RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE AT A GENERAL PRACTICE LAW FIRM IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS EXCELLENT ORGANIZATIONAL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. EXPERIENCE IN A LEGAL ENVIRONMENT IS PREFERRED.

    HOURS:

    • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Full-time: 40-hour workweek

    SALARY:

    • Negotiable based on experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 1-2 years (Preferred)

    WORK LOCATION:

    • One location

    DAILY DUTIES

    • Open and close the office
    • Greeting clients and visitors; answering visitor inquiries
    • Answering and routing incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system
    • Maintaining the waiting area, lobby or other public areas
    • Data entry, Word processing, establishing new case files and drafting simple correspondence
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate with senior-level attorneys, partners, clients, opposing counsel, court clerks, staff, and others
    • Gathering, managing and disseminating information to keep the law office running smoothly
    • Use of office memos, e-mails, phone messages and faxes to facilitate information internally
    • Manage, sort and distribute incoming mailings, deliveries, faxes and other communications, as well as facilitate the dispersal of outgoing communication
    • Perform standard office tasks, such as filing and maintaining records, copying documents, scheduling appointments at the main office and conference rooms at other office locations and answering questions for visitors
    • Managing inventory, ordering and stocking office supplies
    • Organizing case files in preparation of daily court hearings

    THE ESSENTIALS

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, college coursework/degree preferred.
    • Strong spelling and grammar skills
    • Must pay close attention to detail and problem solve (within the scope of responsibility).
    • Familiarity with legal terms and jargon and an understanding of various office forms and legal documents
    • Respect for confidentiality and discretion
    • Positive, upbeat attitude
    • Patience in dealing with difficult clients or visitors
    • Dependability
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
