    We are seeking a Staff Consultant with 2–6 years of experience in military noise and environmental analysis to join our Federal Programs practice in a hybrid position at one of our seven office locations nationwide. In this position, you’ll work on projects related to military aviation noise and emissions, using tools like NOISEMAP, PCBoom, Advanced Acoustics Model, and AEDT to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions. You’ll support and lead technical tasks with growing autonomy, including data collection and validation, technical modeling and analysis, and collaboration with clients and internal teams, all as part of a multidisciplinary project team.     Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze environmental impacts including noise and emissions using tools like NOISEMAP, PCBoom, AEDT, GIS, and coding/scripting solutions (Python, SQL, etc.).
    • Support technical tasks on multidisciplinary projects, delivering accurate, high-quality results with increasing autonomy and leadership.
    • Develop technical content for reports, presentations, and public documents, clearly communicating complex findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Participate in field data collection campaigns for noise and operational measurements across the U.S. and abroad.
    • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify issues, develop solutions, and communicate technical findings clearly and effectively.
    • Build your professional presence and represent HMMH by attending and participating in professional forums (panels, conference paper/presentation, articles, etc.)
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., physics, math, engineering, environmental science, aerospace)
    • 2–6 years of experience in a related field (consulting, transportation, acoustics, environmental analysis)
    • Experience with military noise modeling, transportation noise modeling, and/or air quality analysis (e.g., AICUZ/RAICUZ, aircraft beddowns and deployments, base realignments)
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Willingness and ability to travel for fieldwork, client engagement, and conferences.
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without restriction.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or MATLAB
    • Experience with GIS mapping and spatial analysis
    • Consulting experience in a client-facing, deadline-driven environment
    • Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality, technically sound deliverables
    • Interest in aviation, sustainability, and/or environmental policy
    • Familiarity with NEPA and federal environmental compliance processes
