    FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

PART TIME INSTRUCTOR, FORESTRY, WILDLIFE AND NATURAL RESOURCES – LARIMER CAMPUS

    WHO WE ARE

We are the largest community college in Colorado, enrolling close to 28,000 credit students annually. We were one of 30 colleges in the initial American Association of Community Colleges Pathways Project, recently selected as a “Most Promising Place to Work” in Diverse Magazine, and profiled as one of six top community colleges for transfer student success in a recent Aspen Institute publication. We have developed a strong strategic plan focused on improving student graduation and transfer rates and have made significant investments in advising and other student support programs.

At FRCC, we transform lives through excellence in teaching and learning. Pillars of our approach include: Inclusive learning environments; Active student engagement; Robust instructional content; Meaningful assessment; and Continuous improvement.

We have a strong commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity. We are actively seeking to hire a workforce that reflects our student community.

We are guided by the philosophy “One College, Many Communities.” Campuses share many common values, goals, and practices, but are also given the opportunity and flexibility to develop unique cultures and programs that serve individual communities. In addition, we have a clear vision outlined in its strategic plan.  For more information, visit the following: www.frontrange.edu and VISION 2020.

    WHO YOU ARE

As a part-time instructor in the Forestry, Wildlife and Natural Resources Department, you provide critical skill-based instruction in the natural resource disciplines.  Providing students with hands-on field skills is crucial to the success of our students. You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students and is in line with the professional accrediting bodies of the Society of American Foresters and North American Wildlife Technology Association so that students are career ready when leaving the program.

Student retention and success are your top priorities. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students’ professional skills.  Many of our courses are taught off campus in a field setting, so an understating of risk assessment when working in outdoor settings as well as the ability to be flexible when conditions and curricular plans change is a plus in this position. You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College.

This is a part-time, temporary position with no benefits except Colorado State retirement, PERA.

ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL REMAIN IN A TALENT POOL FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATION.

Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes: A RESUME; A LETTER OF INTEREST; A COPY OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS; A ONE PAGE STATEMENT OF YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY; AND A LIST OF COURSES AND THE SEMESTERS YOU HAVE TAUGHT.
