    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Reporting to the Miller Park Zoological Society (Society) Development Director, the Development Coordinator will work on behalf of the Society, dedicated to supporting Miller Park Zoo and its rich history through fundraising, education, and community outreach.

    The Development Coordinator will manage donor and member data including gift coding, membership processing, sponsorship processing and reporting. The Development Coordinator will work in support of board members and board committees and will assist in areas such as event planning, promotions, communications, research, and support operations. The position will support Society communication initiatives with members and donors. Assists with other development duties as needed.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Manage all aspects of the eTapestry data base system – data entry, data structure, data integrity and data reporting. Accurate data entry and management of all capital campaign gifts, pledges, thank you notes and tax acknowledgements. Oversees staff and volunteers responsible for data entry and gift processing.
    • Manage Zoo Membership, Corporate Zoo Membership and Animal Adoption annual giving programs, including: promotions, new and renewing member campaigns, renewal reminders, member card distribution and other member related needs. Accurate data entry and management of all membership, sponsorship, animal adoptions, and donor accounts in eTapestry.
    • Provide reporting for events, giving programs, campaigns, and donor accounts.
    • Coordinate Membership and Marketing & Communications committees, including meeting schedules, agendas, meeting notes and committee rosters.
    • Research and provide donor screening data for donor development and capital campaign purposes.
    • Support the execution of communications with zoo members, potential sponsors and donors including direct mail and email. Ability to manage and use Constant Contact database is required.
    • Manage newsletter production by providing content and oversite of production and delivery.
    • Assists with special events.
    • Maintain regular office hours in support of Society office operations.
    • Maintain working relationships with Zoo staff fostering communication and exchange of ideas in support of Miller Park Zoo and the Zoological Society.
    • Maintain working relationship with Society Board and Advisory Board members fostering communication and exchange of ideas in support of the Society and Miller Park Zoo.
    • Competence with technology and donor software– Microsoft Office, eTapestry, I-Wave, Constant Contact.
