Position Overview

The Millroom Operator is responsible for performing tasks in all areas of the Millroom, including Banbury, Chemical Weigh-Up, Warm-Up Mill, and Slab-Off Mill. This role involves operating equipment safely and efficiently while following established processes to produce quality compound materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Millroom equipment, controls, temperature recorders, and cycle clocks.
• Properly use all control systems and follow standard operating procedures.
• Understand raw material codes, mixing instructions, accelerators, cure systems, oils, and DLCs.
• Ensure batch-to-batch consistency and verify materials before mixing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the mixing process and slab-off procedures.
• Complete in-process inspection sheets and production reports accurately.
• Maintain clean equipment and work areas.
• Participate in inventory processes as needed.
• Rotate through all areas of the department.
• Perform all duties assigned within the Millroom.

Requirements

• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Comfortable working in dusty environments and with temperature fluctuations.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and perform bending and lifting.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Must follow all safety procedures.
