Job Summary:
As a Tax Accountant at Bristol Consultants, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with their tax needs, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and maximizing financial outcomes. You will be responsible for preparing and filing various types of tax returns, conducting financial assessments, and assisting with providing expert tax advice to clients. This position requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to stay up-to-date with changing tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, specifically for high-net-worth individuals, including but not limited to, Forms 1040, 1065, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 990-PF, 990.
- Prepare tax workpapers and maintain organized and detailed records of client information and all supporting documentation.
- Understand state and local income taxation, prepare state tax returns and tax workpapers
- Understand book to tax differences, income statements, balance sheets and how to make adjusting journal entries.
- Ensure all tax returns are prepared accurately, in compliance with tax laws, and submitted within established deadlines.
- Address client inquiries, resolve tax-related issues, and provide solutions to financial challenges.
- Handle sensitive client information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
- Utilize tax software and tools to streamline the preparation and filing process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- JD, CPA, EA licenses preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar role for at least 2+ years.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software, ProSystem FX is a plus, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills to meet tax filing deadlines.
