    Job Description

    SHACK15 is a new kind of social space opening in San Francisco, dedicated to entrepreneurship, community and big ideas. SHACK15 will bring together passionate entrepreneurs, VCs, founders, investors, creators and artists from across the world for connection, insight, and collaboration. Our goal is to nurture founders, support start-ups, and provide an accessible platform for resource and connection at every stage of the entrepreneurial journey.

    THE VENUE:

    SHACK15 in San Francisco will occupy 46,000sq ft on the third floor of the iconic Ferry Building. With undisrupted views of the water and Bay Bridge, the space will feature a workspace, member’s lounge, restaurant, bar, wellness centre and creative space for community connection.

    THE ROLE:

    This position is responsible for efficiently managing the reception at SHACK15, by delivering utmost excellence and commitment to all our members and guests coming through the door. The reception is the first place our members interact with our brand and experience our hospitality, so we are looking for an engaging, vibrant and customer-oriented individual to manage all aspects of the reception, including member/guest access, security, event management, coordination of deliveries and VIP concierge service, amongst other activities. This role will work in partnership with all departments of SHACK15 to fulfil member requests, attend incoming phone calls and enquiries, as well as manage restaurant and meeting room bookings and ensure a smooth and seamless entry experience. Providing excellent service to guests and members through friendliness, discretion, and accuracy will be key to success in this role.

    There are 2 shifts for this role, you can choose to work either:

    Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm

    or

    Monday to Friday 3:00pm to 10:30pm

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Efficiently manage and own SHACK15’s reception space and processes
    • Provide hospitality-level customer service to members and guests
    • Lead the opening and/or closing of the space every day
    • Attend to all incoming phone calls to SHACK15
    • Assist with any member enquiries, requests and/or booking needs, utilizing our in-house CRM system (training will be provided)
    • Manage any payment needs at reception that arise for membership and/or other purchases
    • Coordinate package delivery and storage
    • Offer concierge service to guests who may need assistance
    • Continuously identify areas for improvements in customer service offerings
    • Support SHACK15 management in hosting regular events

    IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • 3-4 years’ experience working in front desk or reception within the hospitality
    • Experience with guest or member services at a hotel or member’s club in the past
    • Flexibility with working hours
    • A desire to work in a fast paced, energetic environment
    • Readiness to learn
    • Proficient computer and technology skills including Microsoft office
    • A client-servicing disposition
    • Problem-solving attitude
    • Team player mentality
    • Personality, character, and charm
