Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Project Architect, the CAD Technician will be responsible for generating surface and solid CAD models for our clients. This involves meeting with draftsmen, engineers or architects and transforming client blueprints and design plans into computer generated models using CAD software. Must have a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. Must be able to create exact computer models of building and machine designs according to the client’s specifications.

Essential Duties:

Know common dimensions and understand rules for building (drawing) windows, doors and mulled configurations.

Submit drawings and perform back check to the building departments or other jurisdiction as required.

Process in-house site plan sales requests and supporting documentation.

Meet with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.

Input design specifications into the CAD software.

Create surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications.

Review CAD models with the client and make required adjustments.

Conduct model rendering and delivering an accurate, quality final product that is in compliance with all relevant building codes and project standards.

Complete required job reports.

Education/Work Experience

3-5 years if CAD design and drafting experience

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D

Knowledge of design and engineering principles

Associates degree in drafting technology (preferred)
