  • Responsibilities

    Mind Computing is seeking an Application Package Administrator/Package Tester to work with our government customer to support the Office of Information and Technology. The Application Package Administrator/Package Tester will provide support to the Department of Veterans Affairs and will create installer packages for the Windows OS using standard Microsoft Installer (.msi) and executable (.exe) files. An ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft PowerApps, SharePoint, and ServiceNow which is used for tracking and reporting status. Additionally, you will interact directly with the client to refine overall prioritization and assignments.

    Packages requested by the client must be completed timely and according to completion schedule set by the client.

    The candidate must reside within the continental US.

    Responsibilities:

    • Use AdminStudio to create packages for installation in the Windows OS environment.
    • Use existing templates to create package specific build documentation and application compatibility test cases.
    • Identify, verify, and resolve application compatibility problems.
    • Use Virtual Machines or physical hardware to conduct testing.
    • Use System Center Configuration Manager as the final target delivery method for the packages created.
    • Resolve issues identified by field resources, answer questions via email instant messaging or by phone.
    • Provide suggested modification to existing packaging standards.
    • Document recommendations in standardized reports, provided on a regular basis to the client.
    • Respond to requests for “emergency packages” on a shortened timeline and increased priority.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Technical related discipline.
    • Experienced in creating new solutions beyond the area of familiarity to leverage market leaders and innovations in a broad range of technologies that bring business value and efficiencies to the customer's services and operations.
    • Be able to communicate clearly in a matrixed environment and present briefings on technology capabilities.
    • Ability to collaborate with program teams in developing technical standards, work plans, and estimates as well as requirement analysis, risk management, and technology Lifecycle plans and documentation.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Experience with the Federal Government, tools, processes, and frameworks is a plus.

    • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is a plus.

    • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
