    Job Description

    This role is contingent upon award, though we are eager to hire the right candidate. 

    WHAT YOU GET TO DO EVERY DAY:

    • Carries out all phases of information systems/networks security program that involves access to computers and computerized data enabling the company to meet contractual requirements for network security. 
    • Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. 
    • Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems, and software deployment tools. 
    • Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure. 
    • Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends, communicates, and implements new security software or devices. 
    • Implements, enforces, communicates, and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and information systems security education/awareness programs. 
    • Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management. 
    • Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.  
    • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
    • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
    • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

    Qualifications

    This position will require an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE and background screening. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED?

    • Experience with applying the NIST Cybersecurity Framework
    • Experience with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)
    • Experience with NIST special publications (SPs) regarding the SA process, including SP 800-53, SP 800-137, SP 800-171, and SP 800-37
    • Experience with Federal law, directives, policies, and guidelines, this includes FISMA, OMB Directives, DHS Binding Operational Directives, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publications, and (preferably) Department of Commerce (DOC) policies and procedures
    • Experience with developing and managing continuous monitoring and plans of action and milestones (POA&M)

    WHAT IS IDEAL?

    • Preferred certifications such as Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), etc.

    LOCATION:

    • There is a hybrid role with expectations of being on the client site a few days a week.
