    NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES PASSING A SERVICENOW BACKGROUND SCREENING, USFEDPASS (US FEDERAL PERSONNEL AUTHORIZATION SCREENING STANDARDS).     WHAT YOU GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:

    • Own a technical scope and be responsible for its direction and internal prioritization
    • Lead, teach, and generally up-lift the team around them
    • Introduce / reinforce software engineering practices and skills to the team and organization
    • Develop systems, web services, and automation tools that can run in any cloud
    • Build orchestration workflows by leveraging features of the ServiceNow platform
    • Manage large scale infrastructure with code
    • Propose and advocate for impactful architectural changes
    • Collaborate with peer teams who have built world class networking and orchestration solutions.

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU HAVE:

    • Strong initiative and circumspection in driving technical change
    • Sound judgment in choosing an approach to technical problems
    • Strong coding skills, and intermediate skills in software architecture
    • Ability to effectively lead or collaborate on code projects with many contributors
    • Ability to own and operate a mission-critical service, and appropriately respond to incidents and prioritization requests thereof
    • Ability to mentor and teach other engineers
    • Well-developed vision for a software approach to scalable infrastructure services
    • Good grasp of virtualization and containerization technologies, and their appropriate application
    • Familiarity with a declarative, goal-seeking approach to automation, or popular tools exemplifying this such as Terraform, Puppet, CFEngine
    • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and Internet protocols such as DNS, SMTP, LDAP, etc.
    • Has proficient oral and written communication and willingness to train other people.
    • Has integrity, honesty and can uphold ServiceNow’s values

    WORK PERSONAS

    Work personas are categories that are assigned to employees depending on the nature of their work. Employees will fall into one of three categories: Remote, Flexible or Required in Office. 

    REQUIRED IN OFFICE

    A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.

    FLEXIBLE 

    A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.

    REMOTE

    A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
