    Dates: June 10 - July 11

    Monday - Thursday, 12:30 - 3:50 pm

    Including one Friday on June 21st

    Compensation: $225 per day

    About Us: Mindful Roots is a premier provider of after school sports clinics and yoga for elementary and middle schools. Our mission is to inspire and empower young minds through sports, fostering physical activity, teamwork, and personal growth.

    Job Description: We're looking for a dedicated and skilled athletics/sports instructor to lead dynamic indoor sports classes tailored for special education students at Adams Early Childhood Learning Center. As an Athletics Instructor at Mindful Roots, you'll oversee classes spanning five weeks, guiding students through engaging activities like cornhole, ring-toss, ladder-toss, darts, and boxing. Each class will accommodate 15-18 special needs students, supported by 4-5 specialized staff members. Students will range from TK to 5th grade.

    Responsibilities:

    Experience working with individuals with special needs, particularly in a sports or physical education setting.

    Knowledge of adaptive sports and modifications to accommodate varying abilities and disabilities.

    Patience, empathy, and compassion in working with individuals with special needs, recognizing and respecting their individual strengths and challenges.

    Ability to collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students.

    Qualifications:

    Strong athletic background with proficiency in multiple sports or activities, demonstrating the ability to adapt and effectively teach the fundamentals to students of varying skill levels.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate young students.

    Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a group of students effectively.
