    AXIS HEALTHCARE GROUP, a captive clinical services entity of MINDOULA HEALTH, INC., is a Washington, D.C.-based healthcare company providing direct psychiatric care to behavioral health patients in the region.  We provide care across the behavioral health continuum including staffing and managing: inpatient psychiatric units in partnership with client hospitals, inpatient consult-liaison psychiatry, intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP), substance abuse treatment programs, outpatient psychiatry clinics, telepsychiatry, telepsychotherapy, and psychiatry outreach to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

    WE HAVE PART-TIME, FULL-TIME, AND PRN ROLES AVAILABLE IN INPATIENT, OUTPATIENT, AND TELEHEALTH.

    • St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, Maryland
    • Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Maryland 
    • Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, Maryland

    POSITION: This role will serve patients on the BHU during their treatment at the facility. Board-certification in psychiatry, and experience with inpatient psychiatry and consult liaison services preferred. 3+ years of Inpatient Psychiatry experience required. 

    • Lead rounds and provide supervisory direction to the team regarding treatment planning, including but not limited to, medication changes, length of stay challenges, conversion of legal status, transfer of patients to other facilities.
    • Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
    • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
    • Analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose the nature or extent of mental disorder.
    • Ensure individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments, are implemented.
    • Consult Service to Medical Floors and ED.
    • Submit charges within 24 hours. Work with representatives from case management and finance areas to ensure that documentation accurately reflects patient acuity and the full scope of care rendered.
    • Available for conflict resolution between staff and patients and supports a cohesive relationship with the nursing team and leadership.
