    Minnesota Millwork & Fixture is the industry leader with over 30-years of experience serving the hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, and retail sectors. We manufacture commercial casework, millwork, tables, upholstered seating, and metal. We design and build custom products for restaurants, banks, clinics, and hotels.

    We are currently seeking n Master Upholsterer that can add value to the organization and mesh with our dynamic, creative, and hardworking team. To be successful, you must be a team player, a quick thinker, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done to satisfy our customers.

    Job Summary

    This position is a key contributor to the upholstery and booth seating department. This includes sewing seat covers and backs, applying the fabric to furniture, spraying adhesive, and applying foam to the frame. This person may be involved in assisting with the construction of the wood frames or other areas of the shop as needed.

    Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

    Cut and sew fabric to fit custom pieces accordingly.

    Apply sewn fabric, vinyl, or leather on foamed up frames to form smooth, rounded surfaces according to quality standards.

    Use a staple gun and be able to achieve even, smooth application of fabric on furniture frame.

    Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, adhesive, and staples.

    Assemble wood frame and booth seats as directed.

    Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness of fabrics and wood finish.

    Understand quality standards and inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance.

    Mentorship for others in the department

    Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of department work areas.

    Aid other departments and team members as needed.

    Work Schedule: M-F 6:30 AM-3:00 PM

    Qualifications and Experience:

    3+ years of experience in sewing and upholstery work

    Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines

    Dedicated, well organized, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks

    Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs.

    Standing and bending for prolonged periods of time: at least 8 hours per day

    Color vision, the ability to identify and distinguish colors
