    Caucus Page (DFL Caucus)

    This posting will be used to fill TWO Caucus Page positions within the DFL Caucus. 

    REPORTS TO: Minority Communications Director

    SALARY: Minimum $14.96/hour

    This position is open to all qualified job seekers.

    This position has an anticipated start date of December 30, 2020 and will end at the close of Session in May 2021.

    This position is open until December 11, 2020 at 5pm.

    Position Summary

    The purpose of a Caucus Page position is to assist Senators and staff with a variety of tasks and projects ranging from administrative to communications support.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Assist Senators and staff with constituent services, including researching and composing responses to constituent issues.
    • Prepare meeting materials and assist Senators and staff during meetings.
    • Attend Senate floor sessions and deliver necessary items for Senators and staff.
    • Assist staff with video recording, editing, and photography.
    • Assist staff with research questions and preparing documents.
    • Answer phones and perform general administrative work.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Pursuing or completion of a college degree in political science, communications, public policy or related area of study.

    OR

    One (1) year of relevant work experience in political science, public policy, public administration, communications, digital media, video, public relations, market research, writing, journalism, business administration, executive or administrative support, management, or related.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong interest in the legislative process.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Word, Excel).
    • Ability to work long hours and under pressure.
    • Strong oral and written communications skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
    • Ability to learn quickly and retain information.
    • Ability to accept responsibility, follow directions, and perform assigned tasks.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work effectively with a team.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain discretion.
