  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Hardware Production Assembler + Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is a combination of working on the assembly line and helping with daily operations at Mira Labs. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills, as well as a self-manager, able to take direction from Mira leadership and translate that into an effective plan of action.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Build electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and final assemblies using drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
    2. Assist in reworking Printed Circuit Boards with SMT and/or Through-Hole components, as needed. 
    3. Assist with parts inventory receipt, record keeping, and management. This includes inventory counting on a daily basis.
    4. Assist with performing Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC) on mechanical and electro-mechanical components. 
    5. Assist with kitting inventory for assembly of hardware.
    6. Help maintain the assembly line and the inventory locations. 
    7. Assist with in-house prototyping tasks such as 3D printing, parts modifications/rework for testing purposes etc. 
    8. Assist with logistics and reverse logistics of material and hardware units.
    9. Assist with any facility related tasks such as organizing inventory area, moving hardware storage, organizing office equipment etc.

     

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    1. High School Diploma or Technical Degree/Certification (required)
    2. Knowledge and prior experience in assembling electronic and/or mechanical parts including plastics, metal parts, and soldering PCBs.
    3. Experience working with smaller assemblies and has more than one year of soldering experience.
    4. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and precision tools to assemble hardware according to assembly instructions/SOPs.
    5. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and to use a multimeter.
    6. Ability to read and understand instructions in the English language. 
    7. Ability to read and red-line assembly instructions and SOPs. 
    8. Ability to operate a computer to navigate folders and basic proficiency in checking emails, Google docs, Google sheets, MS Word, Exel, Powerpoint etc.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    1. Familiarity (or certification) with IPC610/J-STD-10 standards is preferred, but not required.
    2. Prior experience in inventory/material handling and management using an MRP system is preferred, but not required. 
    3. Prior experience of performing Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC) on mechanical and electro-mechanical components is preferred, but not required.
    4. Familiarity with command line to help with programing hardware devices is preferred but not required.
