Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse
Salary Range: $22-$38 Hourly
Reports to: Nursing Supervisor
Description: The Licensed Vocational Nurses are responsible for the medical aspects of the facility which involves nursing assessment for each client, observing PAWS, and assisting with self-administered medication that the clients take. Medication logs need to be reviewed daily to be sure that they correlate with the Doctor’s orders.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct nursing assessments and monitor the client’s physical symptoms of PAWS.
· Measures and records patients’ vital signs when required
· Documentation regarding the client’s presentation, mood, and symptoms including withdrawal scores (COWS, CIWAS)
· Assists with self-administration of medication policy to document and observe clients' medication regimen for all clients at all levels of
care
· Observe residents, charts, and reports changes in resident’s conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any
necessary action.
· Reviews medication logs and consult with residents, nursing supervisor, and physicians regarding refills
· The candidate will have extensive knowledge of the wide variety of medications that are prescribed to patients as well as their uses,
dosage amounts, and side effects, and will work closely with the Medical Director and Nursing Supervisor to ensure patient safety
· Facilitates education on medication management, infection control, health and safety procedures
· Ensure all medications inputted into KIPU are accurate and match the doctor’s orders
· Residents’ questions regarding MD orders and determine how to assist them
· Evaluate medical concerns and direct residents to emergency medical care when required
· Perform proper medication count and ensure documentation reflects the narc count log, at all times
· Is responsible for maintaining ethical practices and maintaining perimeters designated by the scope of practice.
· Ensure infection control practices and reporting procedures are in place.
· Maintain compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) regulations and Joint Commission policies and
procedures.
· Provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS): Obtaining medical histories, monitoring health status, testing associated with detoxification
from alcohol and drugs, providing alcoholism or drug abuse recovery/treatment services, overseeing patient self-administered
medications, and treating substance use disorders, including detoxification.
· Participate in continuous IMS training per IMS and detoxification policies and protocols.
· Participate in all company initiatives and meetings.
· Any additional task assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements:
Active California LVN License
Maintain Current CPR and First Aid Certification
1-2+ years of prior experience as LVN
Experience in detox, addiction, and/or behavioral health preferred
IMS training
Punctual and dependable
Must be detail-oriented
Able to lift 20lbs
