Job Description
Scrum Master takes on various roles based on the maturity level of the Agile team. Clearly, the success of any Agile team is based on the effective partnership of the scrum master and the team, collaborating, and embracing Agile principles. As a scrum master, you naturally have a servant leader and coach mindset. You will identify needs, remove impediments, and contribute as necessary to ensure the performance and success of the team. This position requires a leader accountable for maximizing the business value produced by the team, including throughput and delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multiple global cross-functional teams on various projects in using Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe).
- Helping the product owner and development team to achieve business value by adopting Agile practices.
- Coach development teams in self-organization.
- Tactically identify impediments and blockers, track and help remove them accordingly.
- Help the teams to accomplish Sprint goals & PI OKRs by following ceremonies and planning/estimation of epics in Agile tools.
- Exercise empathy and resolve conflicts and issues that occur.
- Help the Agile team achieve higher levels of Agile maturity.
- Support the product owner and provide education where needed especially in Product Backlog health, Dependency Management to better manage Releases.
- Effectively manage and facilitate cross-functional team ceremonies to support the development and product releases.
- Ability to identify pain points for Agile teams and bring in fresh practical ideas.
- Clear and strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Showcases Agile PMO goals by adapting to a dynamic environment and quickly pivoting to support the business needs.
- Self-motivated and can stay focused in the middle of distraction.
- Demonstrates and lives the Agile CoE objectives by coaching leaders and scrum masters in lean agile practices.
- Lead increment planning sessions to establish scope and build release plans.
- Partner and collaborate with team stakeholders, vendors, and dependent teams.
- Fosters a community mindset and partners with other scrum masters to share best practices by contributing to Agile CoE & coaching team.
- Eagerness to blend into the Blackrock culture through open-mindedness and a continuous learning mindset.
