Square Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a full-time experienced General Manager.

Square Cafe (square-cafe.com) is a colorful mod breakfast/lunch stop in the East Liberty neighborhood serving a local, seasonal American menu w/ vegetarian choices. We are dedicated to local talent as well as to the community, and we partner with many local nonprofits on fundraisers, special events, and promotions. Our cafe also serves as a gallery showcasing local artists. In addition, we provide catering services for parties big or small, so think of us for your next special event!

Position:

• Restaurant General Manager

Compensation:

• $70-90K salary
• Paid weekly
• Medical

Schedule requirements:

• 45-50 hours weekly
• Mostly days and some evenings

Language requirements:

• English

Experience:

• 2+ years of previous restaurant management experience in a high-volume casual and/or upscale casual restaurant
• 3+ years of previous restaurant experience in a high-volume casual and/or upscale casual restaurant
• P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
• Ordering & receiving, inventory
• Staff training and motivation
• Enforcing policies and procedures
• Managing cleanliness practices of all FOH operations
• Food and Beverage safety knowledge (Serve Safe certification)
• Point of sale systems (computer skills helpful/we use Aloha)
• Staff scheduling (monitor daily to ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain customer service levels)
• Managing 5-10 people
