    Climb Nittany in Boalsburg, PA is seeking an experienced full-time General Manager.

    Climb Nittany (climbnittany) is the child of 5.Life5.Life is the parent company of multiple community-tailored climbing gyms. Each location has its own identity, name, programming, and atmosphere influenced by its community.

    The General Manager at Climb Nittany is responsible for all aspects of managing the operations at the climbing center.

    The ideal candidate is highly skilled at managing guest satisfaction. You can take initiative and show leadership while at the same time being a great team player. You have a passion for the outdoors.

    Position:

    • General manager

    Compensation:

    • $48-55K salary (based on experience)

    Schedule requirements: 

    • 40 hours per week
    • 5 days per week
    • Weekdays from 12:00pm to 8:00pm or 3:00pm to 10:00pm
    • Weekends from 9:00am to 5:00pm

    Language requirements:

    • English

    Experience:

    • 2 years of previous management experience in hospitality or retail
    • Climbing industry knowledge is preferred but not required.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Applications, PC, Tablets)
    • Enforcing policies and procedures
    • P & L management (meeting financial objectives, maintaining costs, maximizing profitability)
    • Ordering & receiving, inventory
    • Staff training & motivation
    • Staff scheduling (monitor daily to ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain customer service levels)
    • Managing 10-15 people

    Responsibilities

    • Identify problems in the day-to-day operations and ways to fix them
    • Manage day-to-day operations while also working toward long-term business goals
    • Identify profits and losses and operate within the parameters of budgets
    • Daily communication across many teams (accounting, operations, human resources, and executive management)
    • Interview, hire, train, and manage new employees
    • Develop the team and provide paths for growth within the company
    • Maintain company culture and staff morale
    • Keep operations as streamlined as possible
    • Understand key revenue drivers and identify any room for improvement
    • Make decisions on how to operate the business from both a guest and financial standpoint
