Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous & Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for steel fabrication and erection projects. This role requires strong plan-reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, detailers, vendors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for miscellaneous and structural steel

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and coatings

• Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing

• Identify scope gaps, clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities

• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation

• Communicate with general contractors and owners and collaborate with contract internal teams during the bidding process

• Assist with project handoff after award, including scope reviews and budget setup

• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience estimating miscellaneous and/or structural steel

• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes

• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
