General Overview
APEX TK is looking for an amazingly talented Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to facilitate the modeling, simulation, and analyses of future concepts that shape the future of the Missile Defense System (MDS) and respond to Warfighter needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assess MDS threats, capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities to develop potential system mitigations and capability evolutions at the architecture level.
- Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above, including analysis efforts on DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) system.
- Develop analysis plans, execute M&S to implement those plans, assess analysis results, prepare analysis briefs/reports, and provide reviews of analysis products.
- Facilitate the definition/implementation of future concepts for modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Act as a subject matter expert in future concept definition, architecture analyses, and reviewing preliminary results prior to delivery to customer.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Master's Degree in a STEM Field with 12+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
- Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Deep understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts
- Experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures
- Experience with MATLAB
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures.
- Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts.
- Experience with HPC Systems, Python, and Git.
- Experience with BMD Benchmark.
- Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.
- Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies.
- Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures.
- Proven ability to coauthor numerous reports and provide significant contributions to MDS studies and responses to Congress.
- Experience serving as a key advisor and collaborating on products that may go outside the Agency, such as DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, industry experts, etc.
