    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Mission Critical Intern to be based in Hunt Valley, MD.

    As a Mission Critical Intern, you will support AECOM’s Technology Solutions Mission Critical Team by assisting with a variety of team-related tasks within the Technology Solutions Group. You will work with the team in designing and implementing resilient systems that ensure operational continuity for critical facilities and infrastructure. This internship provides hands-on experience in mission-critical systems design, risk mitigation, and operational planning. This is a part-time or full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate student schedules. This is a position working primarily in Hunt Valley, MD office, and local client locations within the DMV area.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in the design and implementation of mission-critical systems for data centers, and other high-reliability environments using an integrated systems approach.
    • Support risk assessments and mitigation strategies to ensure system resilience and operational continuity.
    • Contribute to project documentation, including technical specifications and operational guidelines.
    • Participate in project coordination meetings and provide support for program management tasks.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture, Architecture, or a related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
    • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated hands-on or academic experience in mission-critical systems, risk mitigation, or infrastructure design.
    • Strong interest in operational continuity, system resilience, and infrastructure planning.
    • Basic familiarity with design, modeling, or documentation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar tools is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, documentation, or presentations is preferred.
    • Prior working experience in a related field is a plus but not required.
