Childhood Drowning Prevention Foundation / Big Kahuna Swim Academy | Norco & Riverside, CA | Part-Time

    Why This Job Exists

In 2005, our Founder lost a classmate named Arturo — he drowned one week before graduating high school. That loss became the mission. The Childhood Drowning Prevention Foundation exists to ensure that it never happens to another family.

We deliver 800+ private swim lessons a month across two locations, teaching children the water safety skills that save their lives. Drowning is the #1 cause of death for children under 5. We're doing something about it — and we're building the team to do more.

    What This Role Actually Is

This is not a one-task job.

Depending on the day, the need, and where you're most useful, you might be:

Teaching 1:1 private swim lessons (ages 0 and up)

Answering phones and supporting client scheduling

Handling front desk and check-in operations

Supporting the Founder and leadership directly

    Keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly

We're a small nonprofit. Everyone pitches in. The right person doesn't need a perfectly defined lane — they see what needs doing and do it.

    Who We're Looking For

We don't hire for résumés. We hire for character.

The people who thrive here are:

Reliable — early is on time. You follow through without being chased.

Coachable — you take feedback and implement it, without defensiveness.

Emotionally mature — you assume good intent, stay out of drama, and regulate yourself.

Full of initiative — you notice what needs doing and do it without being asked.

Mission-driven — you care about the why, not just the shift.

    What You Should Know Upfront

We're a small nonprofit, and we're honest about that. Here's what we offer:

Work that directly saves children's lives

A values-driven team that holds a high standard

Real growth opportunity as the Foundation expands

What we need from you: flexibility. Hours, roles, and locations shift with the season and the need. If you require a fixed schedule or a single defined role, this likely isn't the right fit. If you thrive when things aren't perfectly predictable, you'll do well here.
