Mission Manager -Government Focus
Position Summary: Mission Managers work hand-in-hand with U.S. and allied government partners to design and deliver AI solutions in secure, high-impact environments. This role bridges technical problem-solving with customer-facing leadership, ensuring AI products translate into mission outcomes. You’ll guide projects from discovery through design, prototyping, and deployment, collaborating with AI researchers, applied engineers, and other mission managers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead scoping sessions with government partners to frame and refine mission needs
- Deploy AI models and solutions in secure environments, integrating with existing systems
- Partner with engineers to design, test, and scale LLM-powered solutions for real-world use cases
- Analyze system and prompt data to optimize model reliability, security, and performance
- Support incident response, continuous monitoring, and iterative improvements
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear mission outcomes for stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Hands-on scripting/programming skills (Python, SQL, or TypeScript) for debugging, prototyping, and analysis
- Strong interest in solving complex government mission challenges with AI
- Ability to frame ambiguous problems and communicate solutions clearly
- Adaptability to rapidly shifting priorities in a mission-driven startup environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage directly with government officers and stakeholders
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in secure or high-reliability technical environments at a TOP company, preferred top defense startup
- Active U.S. Top Secret (or higher) clearance required
- Experience deploying AI/ML products in sensitive or government-facing contexts
- Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Data Science (advanced degree or military academy training preferred)
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with familiarity in infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Location & Compensation:
- Palo Alto, CA
- Pay: $150,000 - $350,000 DOE
