    Our busy criminal defense law firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys, assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. Your role will be as a Case Manager for each of the criminal cases in the law firm. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, handle all office correspondence, communicate with clients, managing the court calendar, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently Use daily time records to properly process client billing with support from the accounting department Qualifications: Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position Applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or office environment as an administrative assistant or secretary Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products • Knowledge and experience with Clio is a plus, but not required Compensation: $42,000
