WHAT IT IS

MOBS Action Crew gives elite students like you hands-on, in-person learning experiences so you’ll shine in rapid-fire workplaces. Crew members, known affectionately as MACs, participate as a group in work sprints – or binges – typically lasting 1 full workday.

At least 2 binges are offered per month (on weekends and weekdays) and you can sign up online as your schedule permits, with a minimum of 6 workdays per year. Tasks are often daily responsibilities of entry-level positions and binges are tagged with functional and industry keywords for various careers. MOBS explains the task’s context and connects the dots so you can grow as a professional, whatever your career path.

MACs receive lunch, interactive workshop instruction, and access to individual feedback and mentoring on workdays. Outstanding team players are often rewarded with cash or a prize for their contribution to the day’s efforts.

·      OPERATIONS & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT __ – Managing a sample closet/wardrobe is a common entry-level task in fashion public relations, lifestyle journalism, and entertainment production. Together we’ll inventory a sample closet, build a retail management system, and price items for a sample sale.

Qualifications

ELIGIBILITY

·      You are at least 18 years of age.

·      You have access to a reliable laptop computer that you can use on workdays. if needed.

·      You are affiliated with a 4-year college or university program. This means you are currently: applying/accepted to, enrolled in, or graduated from a 4-year college or university program. Graduate students and young professionals exploring different career paths are strongly encouraged to apply.

·      We welcome everyone, but are unable to complete paperwork for academic credit, CPT or OPT for this level of commitment.

REQUIREMENTS

·      You commit to a minimum of 6 in-person workdays for the program year: October 2018 through August 2019. At least 2 full (8-hour) workdays must be in 2018. Binges will be at the MOBS office in downtown Raleigh and other locations within the Triangle and offered on both weekdays and weekends.

·      Proactive excitement to work – this is not a show-up-and-chill campus gig. Like a professional skill-based job, you must be actively engaged and contributing for a full 8 hours.

·      Professional energy and sense of urgency – MOBS is a fun, safe environment, but a professional one. Workdays aren’t a simulation! You’ll be given real tasks and expected to fully deliver them.

·      Excellent verbal communications, confidence to speak up, and ability to respectfully engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
