    Appalachian Community Services is seeking a Mobile Crisis Dispatcher to serve as the first point of contact for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. This role is critical to coordinating rapid response efforts and supporting our Behavioral Health Urgent Care team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Answer and triage incoming crisis calls with empathy and professionalism

    • Dispatch Mobile Crisis Team members quickly and accurately

    • Provide real-time support and de-escalation to callers

    • Register and welcome individuals to Behavioral Health Urgent Care

    • Complete insurance verifications and enrollment processes

    • Maintain accurate documentation and monitor active crisis cases

    • Collaborate with clinicians, EMS, law enforcement, and community partners

    Final compensation determined by education, licensure, experience, and qualifications.

    Qualifications

    • Education:
      • High School Diploma
    • Experience:
      • Experience in behavioral health, emergency dispatch, medical office, or crisis services preferred
      • Basic computer proficiency, including email and fax.
      • Proficiency with electronic records systems a plus
      • Strong communication and multitasking skills
      • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
      • Detail-oriented with solid documentation skills
      • Ability to work flexible schedules (including evenings, nights, or weekends as needed)
    • Other Requirements:
      • Must be 18 years or older
