Senior Android Developer (Contract - No Sponsorship)

IQ Clarity has an Irving, TX based client that is looking to bring on an Android Developer (Native & React Native preferred) for a contract-only position. You’ll play a key role in modernizing legacy mobile applications into scalable, cloud-based platforms. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java

• Optimize performance, fix memory leaks, and ensure compatibility across screen sizes

• Collaborate with backend teams (microservices, databases) to deliver seamless features

• Write unit tests to ensure high code coverage and app stability

• Define technical requirements and contribute to scalable architecture

• Create hybrid user experiences with potential cross-platform support (React Native a plus)

• Prototype and evaluate new technologies to drive innovation

• Integrate with AWS, MongoDB, and REST APIs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

• 7+ years of software engineering experience

• 5+ years in native Android development (Kotlin/Java)

• Experience with offline storage, multithreading, and performance tuning

• Strong understanding of Android app lifecycle and UI/UX design principles

• Experience with test-driven development

• React Native knowledge is a plus

• Familiarity with responsive web/mobile development
