IGNIS is the software product team within Bridger Aerospace, building technology that supports wildland fire operations and emergency management. Our platform ingests and analyzes geospatial and operational data to empower firefighters, agencies, and organizations with actionable insights in the field. We combine modern software engineering practices with deep domain expertise to ensure our tools are reliable, secure, and field-ready.

About the Role

We are seeking a mid-to-senior level Mobile Engineer (iOS) to design, build, and maintain the iOS components of our mapping and operational applications. This role requires technical expertise in iOS development, creativity in solving complex challenges, and a strong commitment to quality and collaboration.

As part of the IGNIS product team within Bridger Aerospace, you will work closely with designers, mobile and web engineers, QA, and product stakeholders to deliver innovative tools that support wildland firefighting and emergency management.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications using Swift.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and launch new features.
• Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and scalability standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues to enhance functionality.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following established best practices.
• Integrate APIs (REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPC) to support data-driven features.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in mobile software engineering, with a focus on iOS.
• Proficiency in Swift and the Xcode development environment.
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience integrating APIs and working with networked applications.
• Familiarity with backend technologies (TypeScript, Python, or Go) is a plus.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience with mapping technologies (Mapbox, ArcGIS).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of database technologies and backend integration.
• A love of the outdoors and a passion for building products that create real-world impact.
• Prior exposure to wildland firefighting, emergency response domains, or forestry.
